Lady Emilia McDougal has watched love find each of her beloved sisters. When will it be her turn?

Captain Jack Andrews lost his love of the sea long ago and he doesn't deserve to find the love of his life. Especially not with someone as stunning and kind as Emilia.

But how long can resist those tempting lips, soft smile, and heartfelt words? And what will her father, the Earl of Dunfries, do to a man like him if he does?

This is a Christmas novella that will introduce you to the heartfelt series, A Laird to Love.

Christmastide With My Captain is a novella starter for the A Laird to Love series. At the start of this story Lady Emilia McDougal was considering how happy she was for her female relatives that had all recently found love but she was also a little jealous. She was tired of being overlooked and wished for someone special for herself. The thought of having to spend Christmastide surrounded by people who have found their happily ever after did not sound appealing to her, not at all.

While considering how she was going to keep her inner feelings from showing through during the holiday season, Emilia noticed that there was a ship that appeared to be in distress. Reacting quickly, she immediately went and lit up the lighthouse that was near the shore and started to row out to the ship to see if she could be of assistance. Although initially it appeared that her assistance was not needed, the case quickly changed as one of the dinghies from the ship capsized in the choppy waters. Luckily Emilia was there to save the day. Captain Jack Andrews was most grateful for her assistance as he was one of the men plucked from the frigid waters.

Captain Jack Edwards was immediately taken with Lady Emilia’s strength of character and fortitude. In fact, both Jack and Emilia felt a spark between them but Jack felt that he was not in a position to court Emilia. She deserved to have only the best in life and he was not the one who would ever be able to give her what she deserves. It would be up to Emilia and her father to show Jack that there was more to a marriage than his humble beginnings. This story, Christmastide With My Captain, was a sweet holiday romance that is an excellent introduction to the characters whose stories are going to be told in the A Laird to Love series. This is a short read but it has great characters, is a complete story and was fun to read as well as a wee bit swoony.
