This month I was barely able to read any books beyond what was already scheduled. I had such a busy month planned in my personal life that I wanted to have a “light” reviewing month (lol, like 15 reviews) but I managed to scheduled myself pretty heavy compared to what I wanted, due to a scheduling error. Let’s just say when you transfer items from one planner to another MAKE SURE YOU COMPLETE THE JOB!! Ha ha ha, yeah, I had 5 ARC’s scheduled that I forgot to move to my new planner and then there was the allure of some really cool books that I wanted to read. Which basically meant “sleep, what sleep?” I will admit, I was a wee bit nervous that I was going to be able to pull off a miracle between personal commitments and reading commitments, but I did. I also know that if I was to go back to work full-time I would not be able to continue the reviewing schedule that I set for myself, lol. No freaking way!

So how much did I manage to read in the month of September? That would be 38 books. Here is a screenshot of all the books I read:

The reviews for all of those books are either on this blog, will be on this blog, or are mini-reviewed on Goodreads. If you have interest in reading my other reviews you can go to my Goodreads account and check them out.

September Book Haul

September 2017 TBR. The Genre Minx Book Reviews.

Look at those lovely books!! So many new books!! This month’s haul includes several books that I have not read…yet! I have seriously looking forward to Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff, and Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco, and Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo. I received Magician’s Impossible by Brad Abraham via my first ever Page Habit box, which I thought I would give it a try. I like the idea of being surprised with a new book each month and that they make a donation to support children’s literacy. This month the donation went to “The Buea Book Project and the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB), a new university in Buea, Cameroon, to build their first library.” I am pretty jazzed about that!

Now the Patricia Briggs books and The Dollmaker of Krakow are just to add to my collection. The Clive Cussler book is of course a must read but also an addition to my collection. Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas is to add to my collection because of my great love for her series BUT honestly I just don’t know how I am feeling about this story. I know everyone and their mother is giving this book 5 stars but there is also a lot of hero worship going on with anything Sarah J. Maas (trust me, I too think she is an AMAZING author) but I am probably going to leave this book alone for awhile before I get to it. Ms. Maas basically torn Chaol’s character apart and made me seriously go from loving him to barely tolerating him, and now he has his own book? Hmmm, just not sure about that.

September TBR Shelf

September Book Haul 2017. The Genre Minx Book Reviews.

Sooooo, with all that said, here is my TBR shelf from my library. Just lovely, isn’t it? I think so. So many stories waiting to be read. I love it!

What am I planning to read for the month of October?

I am going to go rogue and make no plans! Ha ha, I have planned to read 27 books for review and many of them I am super excited to read! So I am going to see what time I have and read what I can off my TBR shelf.

Well that is it for my September wrap-up. Are there any books you are looking forward to reading?

Love Always,

Minx
