Bout of Books 20 Recap: Day Six

Posted August 27, 2017 by Minx

Bout of Books 20The challenge for day six was “Who’s the character you LOVE to HATE? Share with us one (or more!) of the characters you love to hate.” This challenge took me awhile to ponder. Who do I love to hate?

Then it came to me: Tamlin from The Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. I loved him so much as a character but it slowly turned to hate throughout the series BUT I still can’t help secretly loving his character and wanting him to change. I was soooo heartbroken over his and Feyre’s breakup and I get it, he’s an absolute ass, but I was still heartbroken none the less.  Phewww! Another challenge down!

Here is MY FINAL short and dirty list of the books I plan to read for this week:

Dark Fire by Christine Feehan

Sweet Reality by Laura Heffernan

Sweet Sacrifice by L.D. Rose

A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust

Nyxia by Scott Reintgen

The Longing and the Lack by C.M. Spivey

Death’s’ Mistress by Terry Goodkind

(Additional Books to be added below)

Shadow Reaper by Christine Feehan

Thick as Thieves by Megan Whalen Turner

Strange the Dreamer by Lanini Taylor

  • Total pages to be read: 3,518
  • The books highlighted in blue are advanced reading copies so you can expect a review to be coming on those soon.

Progress on day 6 of the challenge:

Dark Fire by Christine Feehan, 390 pages

Sweet Reality by Laura Heffernan, 236 pages

Sweet Sacrifice by L.D. Rose, 152 pages

A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas, 336 pages

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust, 372 pages

Nyxia by Scott Reintgen, 384 pages

The Longing and the Lack by C.M. Spivey, 245 pages

Death’s’ Mistress by Terry Goodkind, 512 pages

Total Pages Completed: 2,627/2,627

Additional Books:

Shadow Reaper by Christine Feehan, 397 pages (151/397)

Thick as Thieves by Megan Whalen Turner, 337 pages (300/337)

*Strange the Dreamer by Lanini Taylor, 157 pages (95/157)

*This is a book that I am going to finish reading today in order to use it for my Hunger Games District Task because a character in this book fits the task requirements. Since I have been reading this book for my book of the month read I had already completed quite a chunk of it prior to the start of this read-a-thon. So the page numbers you see for this book reflect how many I had left to read at the start of this read-a-thon.

Updated Total Pages Completed: 3,173/3,518

Alrighty, this post proves I am human. I was unable to finish any books yesterday. Well I could have finished reading Thick as Thieves BUT on Saturday nights I wait for the weekly tasks to come out for my Hunger Games challenge, that way I can see if any books I had been reading fit the task. Most of the time they don’t, but luckily for me, this week 2 books I have been reading (Thick as Thieves & Strange the Dreamer) fit both tasks. In the HG challenge it doesn’t matter when you start the book only that you finish it during the task week.

Since the Hunger Games weekly tasks didn’t come out until after midnight last night I had to put down the page numbers that I had completed up until 11:59 pm CST. Then I kept reading 😊. I am currently up to page 215 in the Shadow Reaper book. I have no idea what time I actually went to sleep though, lol. I woke up around 2:30am laying on my book….oopsie. Well this is it, one more post left in this read-a-thon and the week will be officially over. Weird! As always, thank you for following along!

Love Always,

    • That is a hard one, I am most excited about Death’s Mistress and want to read the next one in the series asap BUT the book that has “stuck” with me is Girls Made of Snow and Glass. I keep thinking about the characters, their story, the deeper meaning. It was a wonderful read and I am still appreciating the beauty of it but weirdly I don’t consider it a favorite. It’s a weird feeling.

Comments?.....I would love to hear from you.....♥️
