After Kirin’s unannounced arrival in Louisiana, Brooklyn finds herself scrambling for a way out of an impossible situation. Kirin is creating the deadly Genesis Cull, and Brooklyn doesn’t know who to turn to for help.
With no other options, she’s forced to trust her nemesis, Juneau Malloy. His support allows the group of Special Omen Operatives to gear up, form a plan of action, and train for the day when they come face-to-face with their worst fear—going to war with their friends.
There is a divide in the once inseparable group of Omens, and their only hope is to put the pieces back together.

Legacy Strain is the third book in the Isolation series and it is the finale to the series. Author Taylor Brooke did a great job of including enough information that I was able to understand what had happened in the previous stories without having to have read those books. I will say though to really appreciate the overarching storyline that it is better to have read the books in series order. I felt that there was a deeper understanding and connection to the characters that way.
This story is complex with many layers! The characters in this story were children turned into weapons, genetically modified and designed for nothing but destruction. Omen Operatives and Legacies. Once on the same side, now they are split. Some feel that there needs to be a genocide that will wipe out a portion of humanity so that civilization can evolve to a higher level, a theoretical jumpstart to the evolution process. The other faction believes that the drug created by Kirin can be used to right the wrong that has been done to humanity without their knowledge or consent by the government and Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
There is so much expression of human emotion in this story. There is a saturation of struggle with right versus wrong. It colors everything because the struggle within these characters is real. Genocide or revolution, they war within themselves and each other over which path is the right choice. Betrayals are uncovered and sacrifices are made. Expect to be deeply affected by the choices this cast of characters encounter as well as the outcomes. This is a fast-paced science fiction thriller that will questioning your own morality as you struggle to decide what choices you would make if you were in their shoes!
